Trump is at War with the Military

Trump has consistently shown his contempt for the military. But now it's taken a whole new level:

​If Donald Trump gets his wish, he’ll soon take the three convicted or accused war criminals he spared from consequence on the road as special guests in his re-election campaign, according to two sources who have heard Trump discuss their potential roles for the 2020 effort.

Despite military and international backlash to Trump’s Nov. 15 clemency—fallout from which cost Navy Secretary Richard Spencer his job on Sunday—Trump believes he has rectified major injustices. Two people tell The Daily Beast they’ve heard Trump talk about how he’d like to have the now-cleared Clint Lorance, Matthew Golsteyn, or Edward Gallagher show up at his 2020 rallies, or even have a moment on stage at his renomination convention in Charlotte next year. Right-wing media have portrayed all three as martyrs brought down by “political correctness” within the military.

Our military is under attack by the commander-in-chief:

According to a Pentagon insider, “There’s a sense of dejection by senior leaders in the Pentagon, that the president and the secretary of defense are going to side with the loudmouths at Fox News against the reasoned opposition of senior military professionals. That’s the sense in a nutshell.”

And let's not forget Trump and henchmen/women attacked war hero, Vindman:

​The White House used its official Twitter account on Tuesday to criticize the judgment of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the National Security Council official and decorated Army officer, as he publicly testified about his dismay at President Donald Trump's July phone call with Ukraine.

The slam came after Trump was previously accused of witness intimidation for his Twitter attacks on other witnesses in the House impeachment probe: Marie Yovanovitch, the ousted Ukraine ambassador, and Jennifer Williams, a foreign policy adviser to Vice President Mike Pence.

Donald Trump obviously has a problem with people in uniform. Maybe he feels insecure because he dodged the draft during his youth. Or maybe the word public service and patriotism are alien to him. Or maybe he's sabotaging the military deliberately under orders from Moscow.
